It is easy to miss this turn up Mt Lemmon, but slow down and take advantage of the views, because there is so much to see in a 360 degree panorama and while driving the road is smooth and well groomed, one is temped to press the fuel pedal or twist the throttle on your motorcycle to enjoy the ride. But caution is needed because many bicyclist ride up this 27 mile mountain road, and while many of them are cautious a few barrel down the mountain at speeds exceeding 50 mph, in the middle of the road, and there is the ocational tourist that does a U turn on a blind turn, even though many pull outs are provided. Best to travel it on weekdays as the weekend traffic is so crowded it is more like a parade crawl up the mountain. Each pull out has attractions like hiking and in the spring offers some waterfalls. Each trun offers so many views that inspire and strike awe. The University of Arizona has a wonderful app that you can download on your phone that you can listen to and use to understand the climate regions and changes in environment as you rise up the mountains. Yes you can perspire in the desert at the base and in the winter months, and go skying at the top and take advantage of good restaurants and clear mountain air.
